Fire Prevention Week, 11-16 February 2019 was observe today at Govt Aizawl North College. The programme was attended by students of Political Science Core (Final Semester), 2nd Semester students of Mizo and other selective students from varios department numbering around 145. Dr Lalzarmawii Associate professor of Education Dept and Dr C.Lalhmanmawia Asso pro of Political Sc and Jerome K.Lalthanzama, Asst Prof of Political Science delivered awareness speech on the topics like various causes of fire broke out and its disastrous effecxts on human life. Students take a vow to spread pioneering efforts for advocay on prevention of fire in household and surrounding environments within and outside the city in commemoration of the fire prevention week. Dr C.Lalhmanmaawia spoke that Mizoram happened to be the top among 29 states of Indian union in terms of deforestation losing 531 sq kms during the last two years 2016-17. He further narrated reports of Mizoram State Fire Services and Emergency Services records reflecting nearly 695 fires incident took place since 2011 causing lost of property worth around Rs 90 crore in Mizoram. The Principal Mr Vanlalduha graced the programme as Chairman and the programme was concluded with short speech from Mr K.Lalthanzama, Asst professor.
